Company’s PWB-FR-450 is Only Fire-Rated Wall Box for Infrastructure industry

Woodland Park, NJ  (December 8, 2017) – FSR, a prominent manufacturer of products for all segments of the ProAV industry, including: education, hospitality, government, corporate and religious markets, is proud to announce that it has received a patent on its PWB-FR-450 Fire-Rated Wall Box, the latest offering in its popular PWB series. The development underscores the Company’s pioneering spirit and leadership role by acknowledging the infrastructure industry’s only fire-rated wall box with a patent.

The large capacity PWB-FR-450 incorporates fire-resistant intumescent material within the door and its mounting frame for up to 60 minutes of protection.  The unique box is completely code-compliant and eliminates the need for constructing double walls. When closed, the PWB-FR-450’s cover is flush to the wall enabling displays to be mounted as close as possible, but also allowing ample room for all other in-wall connections. The cover is ventilated top and bottom to provide convection cooling and there is an exit slot to pass cables from the interior of the box to the display.

The PWB-FR-450 can accommodate Crestron’s DM-RMC-4K-SCALAR-C receiver/room controller or 3 AC outlets and 4 single gang compartments to meet the needs of nearly any installation.

“FSR is very proud to receive this patent on our PWB-FR-450 Fire-Rated Wall Box,” says Jan Sandri, president of FSR. “Not only is it prestigious to receive a patent, but it tells the industry that we are the first to bring this kind of technology to market. While other wall boxes certainly exist, FSR is the only company to offer a fire-rated wall box that is also designed for applications where the installer needs to mount larger interfaces or equipment behind a display or in any other custom application.

Woodland Park, NJ (October 25, 2017) –FSR, a leading manufacturer of a wide variety of products for the Pro AV and Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) markets, got crafty for The New England Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) and supplied models at its 19th annual unconventional fashion show with neck jewelry made from floor box handles.

Two dozen of the region’s best interior design firms and schools team up with industry manufacturers to battle it out on the runway at the annual event that drew a sold out crowd of over 1,700 people at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on October 12th. Designers from each team create and don fashions crafted exclusively from the tools of their trade and compete for cheers, awards and bragging rights.

At this year’s event, FSR, represented by Lourdes Collins, business development manager, furniture distribution and design channel, and Chaz Porter, director of global sales, partnered with the well-established architect and design firm, Perkins & Will; Herman Miller, the renowned international provider of furnishings and related technologies; and Maharam, a leading provider of textiles to architects and interior designers. The team, whose theme was “The Movement of Dance”, took home awards for “Best Walk” and “Best Hair and Makeup”.

“This amazing event unleashes the creativity that serves as the backbone of the furniture and design industry, and we were honored to support it with our own contributions,” said Porter.  “Now, with Lourdes on our team, we look forward to participating in more events, such as this one, and demonstrate that technology can mix with imagination to result in an unforgettable experience, on the runway, or in the boardroom.”

New York, NY (September 7, 2017) – The verdict is in — the John Jay College of Criminal Justice has selected five FSR HuddleVU Collaboration Systems, for its small-group study rooms located in the Lloyd Sealy Library of

FSR HuddleVU at John Jay group study screen e1504876959926

Haaren Hall. The systems allow multiple users to share and view their laptops, tablets, and smart phone screens on a main display, underscoring the school’s efforts to encourage student collaboration, group study and shared projects.  FSR, a leading manufacturer of a wide variety of infrastructure solution products for the audio/video, Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), education, hospitality, and government markets, released project details from Company headquarters in Woodland Park, NJ.

Lloyd Sealy Library, which holds more than 500,000 books, periodicals, films, microfilms, and digital collections, offered students all the resources necessary for group study and shared projects, except the technology that would result in greater collaboration and increased use of the study-group rooms. Following an exploration and evaluation process of affordable options that would create the ideal environment for people to view and share ideas, the school made the decision to install FSR HuddleVU Collaboration systems.

According to Geng H. Lin, Library Systems Manager, “Everything was built-in so we didn’t have to reconfigure the current space, which was a concern. We decided to try two immediately.” FSR's HuddleVU systems include all the necessary video switching equipment, control hardware, display power control and color-coded captive HDMI cables for a simple, yet effective way to install quickly and operate.

Once the FSR HuddleVU systems were installed in two rooms in the upper library, the College focused on stimulating interest via signage in the library, promotion on the library website and a notification to students via internal electronic communications. The rooms were quickly in such high demand that the College added HuddleVUs in the Library’s lower three rooms as well. Each installation was accomplished in one day and came in under budget.

According to the College, the rooms “just work” for the students. The HuddleVU’s are so intuitive and reliable that the students have been able to operate with minimal instruction, and without asking for outside assistance. John Jay College now has a user-friendly, self-contained system designed for group study. Students are able to use the HuddleVU systems immediately following a few simple instructions, and are equally at ease using it for group projects, studying or displaying their work on the screen. The school anticipates a lot of collaboration amongst students when they have group projects, and looks forward to adding systems as space becomes available. According to Lin, “Students are extremely happy with the equipment — they are really enjoying it. It has been a great experience overall.”
