AIA-IIDA Hotel Marcel & Sinclair Hotel-A Case Study on Low Voltage Hotel Energy Efficiency
  • Attendees will learn to be able to identify low voltage systems impact on the performance of hotels and how they can benefit occupants.
  • New methods to assist in a very large reduction in the carbon footprint of a facility.
  • Participants will have a strong knowledge on how to present to their clients new applications of power reduction in facilities with available technology.
  • In the last few years, two hotels in the US stand out regarding hotel efficiency, the Hotel Marcel and the Sinclair Hotel.
The Sinclair Hotel installed low voltage lighting and other technologies with state of the art technology and lowered the overall cost of their overhead by over 35% percent.
The Hotel Marcel took this one large step further and is the first net-zero energy hotel. Both of these hotels are registered as historical buildings.
This presentation focuses on the low voltage technology that is making it happen! This presentation is certified for one renewal unit for both AIA and IIDA.
After registering you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the training.

BICSI-Designing Low Voltage Technology Infrastructure Spaces

Having the correct physical infrastructure in new and retrofit applications is a critical step for being able to provide the functionality needed for today’s low voltage systems. This applies to applications of low-voltage lighting, Edge computing, AV, IT and other applications. The technical changes to allow existing and future applications require new infrastructure as technology has changed so much in the last 5 years in everyday uses for corporate, medical, education and other areas. Designing and installing these enclosures, cable management and aesthetics as well will be discussed.
