No prerequisite knowledge required. Learning Objective 1: To understand the basic advantages of a "Smart Building" and the infrastructure that is required to support it. Learning Objective 2: Learn the main components of a structured cabling system including: backbone cabling, horizontal cabling, pathways and spaces, work areas, bonding and grounding, administration and testing. Learning Objective 3: Learn the principle and benefits of PoE (Power over Ethernet) and how it is implemented in the Smart Building. Learn about the cabling concerns when using this technology. Learning Objective 4: Learn the role of the architect in the design of the Smart Building and pre-planning process. Become familiar the standards and codes for Smart Building cabling.
