In today’s building spaces, the need for meeting with unique teams in various types of collaborative environments is critical for the best user experiences. This course will share challenges associated with the designs of these rooms focusing on stakeholder input, design, layout, and implementation. Topics include furniture choice and placement, technology integration (including web cameras, room acoustics & modern video displays with wired & wireless configurations), and connectivity. Examples of spaces and solutions to these challenges will be offered throughout the presentation. Prerequisite Knowledge: None. Learning Objective 1: The attendees will have a better understanding of the specialized technology including what is needed for video conferencing/webinars and the connectivity required for these spaces and where they fit into the environment. Learning Objective 2: The attendees will be able to identify key challenges associated with modern workplace flex spaces and small rooms for individual uses and other collaboration spaces. Learning Objective 3: The need for communications between the facilities management, IT, and AV groups for budget requirements, design, and operations to enable the user’s experiences to obtain the stakeholder's current and long-term requirements. Learning Objective 4: Understanding the critical need for technology infrastructure to support the technology required, but allows an aesthetic productive, but comfortable design.
